Cool and refreshing peach sorbet

Every summer we are blessed with an abundance of fresh peaches. We have a little peach tree in our backyard. By the time August rolls around it is bursting with fresh juicy peaches. You can easily find Washington peaches in the grocery stores in the summer as well.

What you’ll need

6 large peaches ½ cup sugar ½ cup hot water Juice of ½ a medium lemon ¼ tsp vanilla extract Pinch of salt

Blending up the peaches and simple syrup in the food processor.

Use a blender or food processor to blend up the peaches

You start by cleaning, peeling and slicing up the fresh peaches. Place them into a freezer bag and freeze.

Next, make a simple syrup and allow it to cool. To do this add sugar into hot water and stir until it dissolves. set it aside while you wait for the peaches to freeze.

Once you are ready to make the peach sorbet, add the frozen peaches, syrup and remaining ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately or cover and freeze in a ceramic casserole dish or metal pan for later. It will keep in the freezer for a few days.
